www.texasaflcio.org/relief

This Thursday September 21st, David Gonzales will be here at the hall giving out Home Depot gift cards to members who’s homes were damaged from the storm. He will be here from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

PICNIC NOTICE!!!

The Local Union Picnic is scheduled for October 21.  That is 38 days away.  Due to the storm, recovery efforts and many families of Local 479 whose lives have been turned upside down, the decision has been made to cancel this years picnic.  Many folks will be working to get their homes and lives back in order.  Many members will probably be working that day.  We will look at getting together later.  I trust everyone will understand this decision.

CODE OF EXCELLENCE

This is can be done only if we embrace change. It takes much more than just attending this class to make this Local stronger. Get involved.

RENEW

The RENEW (Reach Out and Engage Next-gen Electrical Workers) Program is slowly, methodically, and with a purpose moving forward within our Local. As the young leaders of this Local identify themselves, the members of this Local should prepare to step forward and support, mentor, and in any way possible show these men and women that being part of an organization with common values and goals is worth the effort to make Local 479 a very proud Union. Chris Reeves supports the folks as the 7th Districts RENEW Advisory Committee Member. More information can be found on the RENEW Facebook page.
